Top 10 Chick Pics of 2013

The Daily Hat Trick strives to be an Internet destination for guys. Our regular Chick Pic entries have not hurt that cause. While the new year isn't that new anymore, and a lot of your favorites were originally posted in the calendar year 2012, it is still new enough to review your favorite Chick Pics viewed last year.

10) "A Champion Off The Field" - February 8, 2013

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick may have just lost Super Bowl XLVII, but we found his girlfriend, J. Marie Maestre.

I wonder how often Maestre, right, invites her friends over to hang out with Colin. Lucky bastard....

9) "Out of This World" - October 16, 2012

Following Austrian skydiver Felix Buamgartner's 24 mile free fall, I wondered, "What kind of lady can handle this thrill seeker?" So did you all. It is gymnast and model Nicole Oetl.

Gravity doesn't seem to bother either of them very much.

8) "Unwrapping Kobe's Birthday Gift" -  August 23, 2012

With a wife like Vanessa, you have to wonder what Kobe was thinking in Colorado back in 2003.

Have you seen the skinny, plain Jane chick Kobe almost ruined his life over?
7) "Would You Trade with Erik Spoelstra?" - June 8, 2012

Basketball fans are split on how effective Miami Heat Head Coach Spoelstra is, given the talent already on his team. However, there is no dispute that his significant other, Nikki Sapp, is smoking hot!

Spoelstra cries himself to sleep every night from the critics. Sleeping with her.
6) "She's on Top" - August 22, 2012

The former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice became one of the first women to become a member at Augusta National Country Club, home of The Masters tournament.

Power (and legs) trump age when it comes to sexiness.

5) "Carrie Got BACK!" December 19, 2012 - 3,000 views

Caroline Wozniacki cause a small stir in the tennis world, making a self-parody of fellow tennis player Serena Williams when she stuffed her pants and bra to imitate the curvy Williams.

Cue Mix-A-Lot.
4) "Chris Bosh's Better Half " - June 11, 2012

Chris Bosh is 6'10". I would still like to see a reenactment of the physical logistics of "wrestling time" in the Bosh household.

Cue Sir Mix-A-Lot again.

3) "Victoria Azarenka - Back by Popular Demand" - September 4, 2012

One thing that is crystal clear: you guys love Victoria Azarenka.

What grace....

2) "Five Down, Two To Go" - June 4, 2013

As Serena Williams continued her epic tear in the French Open, Hat Trick readers continued their epic tear at viewing Serena.

She was doing more than taking a dip at the time.

1) "Farewell to Victoria Azarenka" - July 5, 2012

Originally debuting in 2012, you guys kept Victoria Fever into and throughout 2013.

I understand why you kept coming back for more Vika.

Olympic swimming legend Michael Phelps struck gold on land as well as in the water. You all appeared to agree.

9) Brooklyn Decker - June 27, 2012

Now retired tennis star Andy Roddick's blazing hot model wife is easy on the eyes, even though Roddick's game, in the twilight of his career, was not.

8) Adrienne Williams Bosh - June 11, 2012

Behind every successful man is a great woman. Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh won his first NBA championship last June. You all wanted to see the lady behind the man and the Hat Trick delivered!

7) Caroline Wozniacki - December 19, 2012

The highly ranked Danish tennis star made some headlines while performing a gag during an exhibition event impersonating American tennis superstar Serena Williams and Williams' curvy features.

6) Nicole Oetl - October 16, 2012

Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner safely completed a 24 mile free fall from space. People wanted to know what kind of woman can handle such a thrill seeker. That would be gymnast Nicole Oetl.

5) Vanessa Bryant - August 23, 2012

Love was in the air as, reportedly, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, attempted to reconcile after separating. August 23 was Bryant's 34th birthday. Kobe saw his birthday gift in person. You guys had to settle for photos.

4) Nikki Sapp - June 8, 2012

Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra has picked up a lot of valuable life experience during his long career with the Heat. He also picked up his smoking hot girlfriend, Nikki Sapp.

3) Condoleezza Rice - August 22, 2012

The former Secretary of State has been a trailblazer for much of her life. First black woman to serve as Secretary of State and one of the first two women to break the gender barrier for membership into Augusta National country club. It got your attention!!

2) Victoria Azarenka - September 4, 2012

The tennis star is unquestionably your favorite among the ladies pictured in the Hat Trick. The September 4th Azarenka Chick Pic had double the number of views of the #3 pic, Condi Rice.

1) Victoria Azarenka - July 5, 2012

Like I said, you guys love some Azarenka. And I can't say I blame you. The Chick Pic featuring Azarenka on July 5, during the Wimbledon Championship, received five times as many views as the #2 post in September. I guess I got something right!!!

Retweet of the Day - August 22, 2012

And wrapping up the Condoleezza Rice triple cast is today's retweet, from Trust Fund Raps (@TrustFundRaps). As a rule, I follow all people who make Retweet of the Day. But I must say that there were some rhymes that gave me a chuckle. Check this one out!

"Got your girl at my door step and she says she don't trust ya, so I told that b**** to come in like Condoleezza Rice at Augusta"

I wonder if her predecessor came up with that one first.

She's on Top!

This may be the first, and last, time I ever feature a 57 year old woman in the Chick Pic. However, power is SEXY! Condoleezza Rice was one of the most powerful people in the world as Secretary of State. Her long, attention-grabbing legs also did not go unnoticed during her service in the Bush administration. In light of her recent acceptance for membership at Augusta National country club, I thought she would be a fitting Chick Pic topic for today.

Whoop Dee Freakin' Doo!

Augusta National, home to The Masters golf tournament, admitted its first to female members in the 80 year history of the club, earlier this week. Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and South Carolina financier Darla Moore will be the first women to don the trademark Augusta green jackets. What a glorious day for gender equality!!!

I am glad Augusta allowed women into their ranks, but this is at least 20 years overdue. The time to give an exclusive institution "credit" for broadening its horizons in demographic categories like sex and ethnicity was from approximately 1970 until about 1990, give or take several years here or there. Once the years began with a "2" instead of a "1", such an institution was overdue in its mainstream inclusiveness. Regardless of your politics, love him or hate him, once Barack Obama, a black man, became President of the United States of America in 2009, the ultimate "Good Ole Boys Club", any institution claiming to be in line with mainstream American values became delinquent by excluding people, across the board, because of accidents of birth.

Guess who's coming for tee time! 1

OTHER BREAKTHROUGH MOMENTS

Perhaps I am being cynical in assessment of Augusta National's removal of its gender barrier. Let's look at the timing of some other gender breakthroughs and contrast them to the 2012 admissions of a former Presidential Cabinet member of the highest rank and a successful businesswoman.

Source: Scholastic.com

1849 - America's first licensed female physician.

1916 - The first woman is elected to Congress.

1920 - The 19th amendment to the United States Constitution is ratified, granting women's suffrage.

1948 - The first woman breaks the sound barrier.

Congresswoman Jeanette Rankin - note that this was before color photography was ubiquitous. 2
Notice a pattern here? Most of you weren't even born, in fact, many of your parents weren't even born by this point. But hey, this was just the tip of the iceberg, we haven't even touched the Women's Lib movement yet.

1960 - The first birth control pill goes on the market.

1963 - The Equal Pay Act passes.

1964 - Gender discrimination is effectively outlawed in employment, public accommodations, and other areas of commerce following the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

1968 - The first black woman is elected to the House of Representatives.

1973 - Roe vs Wade decision by the United States Supreme Court

1993 - The United States has its first female Attorney General appointed.

The term "lady" may be relative, but "woman" is not. 3

Perhaps I sound like some pinko, commie, tree-hugging liberal, but if we have women making and enforcing the laws of the land, I wouldn't think that allowing membership at a golf club is pushing the envelope much. I believe in every private club's right to associate, and not associate, with whomever they want. I also think that the notion of closing off membership on the basis or race, gender, religion or other demographics, in this day and age, is archaic. I have no problem with Augusta National's admission of women members. I have a problem with the perception some may have that Augusta deserves applause for a groundbreaking decision.

It is overdue. Much like when an overdue library book is returned, it is appreciated. It also should have happened sooner.
