Retweet of the Day - September 6, 2013

The 2013 NFL season is officially underway. It commenced with last night's 2013 Kickoff game at Mile High between the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens and the host Denver Broncos, defending AFC West Division champions. The NFL didn't fail to deliver.

Peyton Manning threw for an NFL record seven touchdowns, tied with five other quarterbacks (last by Minnesota Vikings QB Joe Kapp during their NFL Championship winning season of 1969). The Broncos led by 25 points at one point early in the fourth quarter. They appeared to be completely running away with the game.

Two of those seven touchdowns were thrown to free acquisition Wes Welker, formerly with the New England Patriots. Welker caught a total of nine passes and was targeted a total of 11 times. The former Patriot made the strongest case that they should have paid him the reported $9 million/year he was demanding rather than the $6 million/year he settled for to get out of New England.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady could not have been happy about losing his favorite target, especially after taking a pay cut to free up salary cap space. Today's retweet is from a tweeter who is becoming a Hat Trick regular, #DTB12 (@DouchyTomBrady):

"Alright now Peyton Manning is just rubbing it in with his new #Throwmance"

Get used to it, Tom Brady. You can thank "The Patriot Way" for this jilted receiver!
