Detroit Tigers outfielder Torii Hunter experienced the old "insult to injury" cliche' first hand. Hunter came inches away from robbing Ortiz but instead missed the ball, flipped over the bullpen wall in the outfield, and scraped his head. Red Sox players, almost immediately upon realizing that tere was an injured player, went over to tend to Hunter, who was able to return to the game. The police officer in the bullpen was a bit more caught up in the moment. He was seen cheering throughout the ordeal.
Today's retweet, by Sue Collins Shand (@SueShand) illustrates how that non-reaction by the cop played out on television:
"Notice the fat cop jumping up and down in the bullpen as Torii Hunter laid there? Way to protect and serve Bubba #haveanotherdoughnut"
Maybe he just didn't see Hunter #smh. |
