In what appears to be a never ending pattern among athletes, get another stand out player was picked up for driving under the influence of alcohol. Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo was arrested for DUI earlier this week, with a blood alcohol content of about three times the legal limit.
It never ceases to amaze me with professional athletes. Twenty dollars or $50 or even $100 for a cab ride is nothing...NOTHING for these guys, whose minimum salary is nearly a half million dollars per year (Gallardo will earn close to $8 million this season). I would think that ballplayers would be especially careful following the well publicized death of Jerry Brown of the Dallas Cowboys this past December. Brown was killed in a car accident while his (suspected) intoxicated teammate was driving.
Nonetheless, nobody was hurt in this incident. So Gallardo should be happy he's alive to be made fun of. Today's retweet is from MLB Memes (@MLBMeme):
