Retweet of the Day - December 10, 2012

Two Monday's in a row since restarting The Daily Hat Trick...two Mondays following  weekend that included the death of an NFL player as well as an alleged criminal act by an NFL player that led to said death. I am not liking the karma and/or coincidences.

The Twittersphere has been filled with people expressing sadness over the incident, an early Saturday morning single car accident that killed Cowboys practice squad player Jerry Brown, and anger toward the driver, his Cowboys and former college teammate and best friend Josh Brent, who was able to walk after the crash. A few comments have taken, what I think are ill-timed and almost inappropriate, shots at NBC Sports journalist Bob Costas, who offered an anti-gun opinion following last week's shooting deaths in Kansas City.

I rarely retweet active professional athletes. The idea of the Retweet of the Day is to find a remark in the Twittersphere from an ordinary, otherwise anonymous people and give them some of their 15 minutes of Internet fame. But wide receiver Lance Moore (@LanceMoore16) of the New Orleans Saints hit the nail on the head in today's Retweet.

"Thoughts n prayers go out to the family n friends of former cowboy Jerry Brown. So sad to hear. Life is short. Be smart n thankful"
