Clipped Wing

Multiple reports are coming out of Atlanta that their Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones (41 rec., 580 yds., 2 TD) is probably out for the season with a foot injury. Jones played through the end of Monday night's loss to the New York Jets in which he made 8 catches for 99 yards. This is the worst news imaginable for a team off to a 1-4 start, in spite of having opportunities to win at the end every game this year.

The Falcons had problems, but were probably of the belief that they had the offensive firepower to spark a rally. Without quarterback Matt Ryan's favorite target, who is largely responsible for giving the Falcons weekly opportunities to win, the Dirty Birds may be grounded. Stick a fork in the Falcons. They're done.

Already at 1-4, without Jones, these birds are done!
