Retweet of the Day - September 17, 2013

There have been an unusual number of weather related delays in the NFL this year. The 2013 Kickoff Game between the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos was delayed by lightning, delaying the official start of the regular season. The New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers contest in Tampa was delayed by over an hour due to lightning, ending after the kickoff of Sunday Night Football.

Sunday Night Football featured the defending NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers at the Seattle Seahawks. Naturally, there was a delay cause by lightning. What a surprise!

There are some fans who may have been happy to have football past midnight. Some may have been annoyed. But most people's livelihoods weren't affected. Today's retweet is from John Shifflett (@John_Shifflett), Sports Editor at The Daily Progress in Charlottesville, Virginia:

"Thanks to weather delays in different cities, it is halftime of an NFL game and 80 laps to go in a NASCAR race at 11 pm. #DeadlineProblems"

The show must go on!
