New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter (.190, 1 HR, 7 RBI) was placed on the 15 day Disabled List, all but ending his season. The Captain has been dogged by a bum ankle since last October and has never been able to sustain an healthy stretch this year. In contrast, Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez (.301, 5 HR, 12 RBI) is coasting along, in spite of MLB attempting to suspend him for nearly a season and a half for P.E.D. violations.
