Retweet of the Day - March 29, 2013

ESPN recently announced that it is extending its television agreement with the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) for six more years, through 2022. The WNBA has suffered at times from slumping attendance and revenues. Recently, the league even resorted to placing ads directly on the players' jerseys.

At the same time those of you who have followed the NFL offseason are aware of the mass defections of players from the Super Bowl XLVII champion Baltimore Ravens roster. The Ravens were in salary cap hell and had to let go of several key players from the 2012 team. Today's retweet is from Faux John Madden (@FauxJohnMadden):

"ESPN signs WNBA to 6-year extension, and you thought the Ravens were having a bad offseason."

Perhaps ESPN got an Extra Value Deal from the league, too.
