Retweet of the Day - January 29, 2013

There are always going to be memorable quotes at every Super Bowl, every year. This year is no exception. San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Randy Moss (28 rec., 434 yds., 3 TD) was quoted earlier today as saying he thought he was the greatest receiver ever to play the game. Of course, it garnered attention.

Wide receivers are known for their egos and confidence bordering on cockiness. But Greatest of All-Time is saying a mouthful. Moss will coast into the Hall of Fame and I could accept that he is among no more than the 5 greatest of all time, but number one?? C'mon man!

It might even be worthy of discussion or debate were it not for one Jerry Lee Rice, who is first in just about every conceivable all-time receiving category, with second place holders being very far away. Not only is Rice, without dispute from the vast majority of us, the greatest receiver of all-time, according to the NFL Networks recent "100 Greatest Players" series, Rice is the #1 player of all-time, period (an opinion I've shared since the day he retired following his 2005 preseason with the Denver Broncos).

This leads us to today's retweet, from Not Bill Walton (@NotBillWalton)

"Randy Moss told the media that he's the greatest WR of all-time. If "all-time" started after Jerry Rice retired, then he's absolutely right!"

"Last name, 'ever'...first name, 'greatest'!
