Retweet of the Day - October 12, 2012

The Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees have just begun Game 5 of the American League Divisional Series, with the winner advancing to the American League Championship Series to face the Detroit Tigers. The game is currently at the end of the second inning with no score. The ESPN Radio commentators have remarked multiple times that there were a conspicuous number of empty seats and the crown was quiet.

The O's and Yanks played to 13 innings last night in Game 4 and 12 innings the night before in Game 3. Perhaps play close to the total of three games in two night wore down some of the loyal crowd. Perhaps the late afternoon start time has some fans dragging their heels to the Bronx or people are simply stuck in rush hour Friday New York traffic.

Whatever the case, the Yankees are not getting the expected boost from the crowd that one would expect. That brings us to today's retweet, from Andrew Stetka ‏(@AStetka)

"Yankee Stadium sounds like a funeral. Come tomorrow it will be: the death of the 2012 #Yankees season."

Gives a whole new meaning to "die hard" fan.
