Retweet of the Day - September 27, 2012

In the world of sports video gaming, Electronic Arts owns the king of the hill franchise, Madden NFL Football. Their college game, NCAA Football is pretty good, too. Tiger Woods PGA Tour is probably the gold standard of home golf video games.

EA Sports has given a lot of ground to 2KSports in basketball and baseball, however. I cannot recall the last time I saw a new EA MVP baseball (perhaps 2005?). And the EA NBA Live franchise has been dormant for quite some time. The last release under the name "NBA Live" was the 2010 version (a retooled title called "NBA Elite 11" was released in late 2010, was poorly received, and resulted in plans to bring back "NBA Live" the following year). Unfortunately for gamers, it was announced that the release of NBA Live 13 would be cancelled, the second consecutive year of cancellation for the franchise.

That brings us to today's retweet, by Konstantinos ‏(@otixero):

"NBA Live - The Replacement NFL Referee of Basketball Games. #NBALive"

FIVE YEAR penalty??? I'd rather be associated with NBA Live.
