Downhill Fortunes

Unites States Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn announced that she will not be participating in the 2014 Winter Olympics. Plagued by recurring ligament problems in her knee, this fall Vonn aggravated an injury sustained early in 2013. The 29-year-old said that the re-injury of the knee in November and the pace of recovery would make it unsafe for her to compete in downhill skiing in Sochi, Russia later this winter.

Of course she is also the girlfriend of superstar golfer Tiger Woods. You guys, the readers, seem to like seeing her in the Hat Trick as much as Tiger likes seeing her in the flesh. For the third time, Vonn is the subject of today's Chick Pic.

Getting Back on the Horse

Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn has had bad luck with her knees. After injuring her right knee in a skiing crash earlier this year, Vonn, on Tuesday, partially tore the ACL in the same knee while training for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. The main squeeze of #1 ranked golfer Tiger Woods is now questionable for competition in what would be her fourth Olympic games.

She might be Superwoman if she can come back and medal next year. 1

Love Never Dies

Freeskier Rory Bushfield won the first ever championship on the diving reality show, "Splash"; The premier season finale aired on Tuesday. Bushfield is the widower of the late Canadian freeskiier Sarah Burke. Burke died in a training accident in early 2012.

Bushfield continues to refer to his late wife as a source of inspiration. Burke was not only talented, but beautiful. She was named one of FHM magazine's 100 sexiest women in 2006. She is the subject of today's chick pic.

After weeks of speculation about Tiger Woods' personal life, the superstar golfer confirmed that he is in fact dating skier Lindsey Vonn. As many of you remember, Woods had some...control issues in his last confirmed relationship, wife ex-wife Elin Nordgeren. Among Woods' seemingly infinite peccadilloes was a Waffle House waitress and an adult film star. Tiger neither shot for the stars nor landed on the moon with his extramarital flings.

World famous golfer Tiger Woods has experienced a meteoric rise in the golf world followed by a meteoric fall from grace after a revelation of his serial infidelity. The fall from grace was followed by his golf game simply plummeting, in large part due to injury. During the last year, Woods has (somewhat) quietly built his game back up. While he has not won any majors, and needs to before the monkey is officially off of his back in the public eye, he has been near the top of the pack for earnings and PGA tournament wins.

Another star, Ireland's Rory McIlroy, has begun to rise in golf in recent years. Woods and McIlroy have developed somewhat of a rivalry/mentorship relationship over the past couple of years. I think both have benefited, helping young McIlroy develop into an "A" list sports star and Woods continue the long road to his recovery as a superstar. This week, the pair was reportedly engaged in a private golf duel prior to this week's Honda Classic tournament.

Woods is rumored to be dating (or have dated) skier Lindsey Vonn, today's Chick Pic subject. Vonn is also making a difficult road to recovery after being injured in an accident on the slopes. She says that she will compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics. Besides fame and fortune (and in Vonn's case, being smoking hot) clearly Woods and Vonn have competitive spirit and perseverance in common. It's also good to see Woods exercising a little more discretion, as his personal life has been the subject of unsupported rumors and innuendos and not the smoking guns of dozens of low rent women yapping to the press for their 15 minutes of fame.

She's Used to Frozen Tundra

The Green Bay Packers may have rescued their season last Sunday Night. The Packers entered their interconference showdown with the then unbeaten Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium with a 2-3 record. A loss would have put the Pack into a 2-4 hole that few teams have recovered from. Green Bay manned up, played like there was no tomorrow, and blasted the Texans, 42-24, in their own building, bringing their record back to .500.

Clay Matthews, III (25 tak., 8 sacks, 1 FF) was an integral part of that big win with four tackles, including one for a loss. Green Bay is known for being very cold in the wintertime. ESPN sportscaster Chris Berman has frequently referred to the Packers' home stadium as "the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field" in a faux (legendary NFL Films announcer) John Facenda voice. Matthews girlfriend, and the subject of today's Chick Pic is used to frigid conditions. She is Lindsey Vonn, model and two time medalist (gold, bronze)member of the 2010 United States Olympic Ski Team.
