Professional basketball player Marko Jarić lives a charmed life. The seven year NBA veteran was released by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2010, before they began making strides as a legitimate contender in the Western Conference. This season, he was cut from the Chicago Bulls before the start of the regular season. It appears his NBA days could be over, though he played in Europe in between his release from the Grizzlies and failed comeback with the Bulls.
Jarić had an average NBA career, though with above average longevity. He earned millions of dollars to play a game and he was not a star, meaning his privacy was largely kept in tact. He could go to the grocery store without being mobbed by fans.
Former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens is a first ballot Hall of Fame player, yet is broke by his own admission. Allen Iverson is one of the greatest scoring point guards of all time, yet has had well publicized money problems. What does Jarić have to show for years of D-list NBA fame?
Jarić is the husband of Victoria's Secret Brazilian Supermodel Adriana Lima, a woman who I once described as "the most beautiful woman I had ever seen" when her career began to skyrocket in the year 2000. I know I am not alone in having expressed that opinion at one time or another.
