Retweet of the Day - August 6, 2013

College football is just a few weeks away. Already, the Twittersphere is filling up with trash talk. There is no more competitive or intense conference in college football than the Southeastern Conference. The intensity extends to Twitter beef.

Today's retweet from Tom Tebow ‏(@IamEvilTebow):

"Alabama is #1 in the coaches' pre-season poll...They're also #1 for most cousin sex. #RollTide"

Only 23 days until college football kicks off!

Retweet of the Day - June 18, 2013

Today’s retweet is from several days ago.  Tom Tebow (@IamEvilTebow) tweeted a prediction on the day of Game 4 that, so far, has come to fruition. He isn’t the first to think it, but he is the first to say it succinctly in 140 characters or less. I happen to agree: this series is going seven games.

“Prediction: Spurs win game 5, Heat game 6, and game 7 is nail-biter. #Scripted

It's not the first time a Tebow has held a crystal ball.

Retweet of the Day - Monday, March 11, 2013

The sports highlight that has everyone talking this morning is DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers and his absolutely nasty, posterizing alley-opp dunk over Brandon Knight of the Detroit Pistons (assist by Chris Paul). Jordan went up with authority, and Knight went down for basketball's version of a dirt nap. Credit to Knight for staying with the play, but if there were a grave beneath the hoop, Knight would have been in it.

Fortunately, Knight was not injured. While we want to be entertained by sports, we want them to be as safe for the participants as possible. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has spent the past several years determined to make the violent game of pro football safer, attempting to reduce trauma to head that is linked to debilitating, post-career conditions in an alarming number of players.

When Goodell began stiffening the rule and penalties for blows to the head, one repeat offender under the new standards was Pittsburgh Steelers star linebacker James Harrison. That leads us to today's retweet, from Tom Tebow (@IamEvilTebow)

"Breaking: Roger Goodell fined James Harrison 25k for DeAndre Jordan's dunk on Brandon Knight."

Just NASTY!!
