Soft Knocks

Episode 2 of HBO's Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Cincinnati Bengals aired last night. Much like in the first episode, there was a "don't touch the merchandise" theme in Bengals camp, as in, "Don't touch the stars." Of course, the most off-limits of players was starting quarterback Andy Dalton. In one filmed sequence, a defender ran into the lower part of Dalton's legs, claiming an offensive lineman pushed him. The defender received an earful from Head Coach Marvin Lewis, regardless.

One person who can touch the quarterback is Andy Dalton's wife, Jordan. Dalton is so committed to Jordan that the symbolism of their love extends to the practice field. Andy Dalton wears a rubber wedding band at practice and, I assume, during games. Wow...(sound of a whip cracking).

I'd rather see Jordan in that jersey, too, except on Sundays. 1

They look genuinely happy to see each other. Must be newlyweds.... 4

I am almost certain the Daltons don't have a child. I believe this was a little girl connected to Dalton's charitable organization. 5

If you watch Hard Knocks, you see Andy Dalton getting ribbed about his wholesome, family man persona. Looks to me like he has the last laugh when he turns the key in the lock at the Dalton home. 7
