Retweet of the Day - August 15, 2013

Last night, the Los Angeles Dodgers won a 12 inning marathon instant classic against the visiting New York Mets, their eighth consecutive win. Mets closing pitcher LaTroy Hawkins (3-2, 3.04 ERA, 3 SV) entered the 9th inning with a two run lead. Jerry Hairston, Jr. of the Dodgers reached base by hitting a ball directly up the middle of the infield, which ricocheted directly in the middle of Hawkins (in a place no man wants to be hit).

Hawkins stayed in the game, but game up the tying home run to pinch hitter Andre Ethier. Still, Hawkins manned up when nobody would have questioned him for taking a seat. Today's rewteet, from E r i c k  (@3sanderson3) stated it as follows:

"LaTroy Hawkins just got smoked in the twig and two berries by a ball, stood up and made the throw to first. Boss."

Walking it off... OUCH!!!
