Sleepless in Seattle

Future Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens was released by the Seattle Seahawks this past weekend. While he was in excellent shape and made, arguably, the most impressive circus catch of the preseason in his final exhibition game as a Seahawk last Friday, he was expendable in part because of his rust and his $1 million salary was much higher than some of the younger receivers with experience in Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll's system.  Carroll did not rule out bringing Owens in later in the season if a need arose.

Meanwhile Owens is looking for work. There are some receiver starved teams in the NFL. I think it is just a matter of time before he picks up with a new team. I could not help but notice that Owens did not sob upon his release from Seattle like he did when his former teammate, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, was receiving harsh criticism during the 2008 season ("That's my quarterback!" - sniffle). Then I Googled a picture of his girlfriend, Kari Klinkenborg (according to The Urban Daily as of this past April). I wouldn't be crying, either!

If she is a"Campus Girl", Owens may want to utilize his free time to continue his education. 2

She's pretty laid back. That should help T.O. with his stress. 3
