Retweet of the Day - June 15, 2012

Today's retweet is very loosely connected to the sportworld. It involves former ESPN anchor Keith Olbermann (@KeithOlbermann). Olbermann now is involved in political commentary and, as many of you know, leans rather heavily to the left.

The Hat Trick is a place for sports and guy stuff, not politics and I am not about to start discussing politics here. However, I do take exception to people that hide behind social media to make inflammatory comments to others, often public figures. It's juvenile; it's childish; it erodes the value of powerful tools like Twitter.

James Stavridis (@Jstav44) is one such person. He engages in an electronic fisticuffs with Olbermann, his tweets loaded with incendiary exaggerations and, often, outright ignorance and falsehoods. It's a free country; he can say anything he wants, no matter how unsupported it may be or inaccurate and unorganized it appears. When people lob bombs at others in a cowardly manner (such as calling Olbermann a "socialist"), I think of that person as the bad guy who ruins a far reaching online forum like Twitter.

"I'm also sorry you don't understand about wearing a shirt when you have an embarrassing chest like yours RT how about the Fuhrer by passing congress to create law? cover that #socialist"

Complete tool....
