I expected the Twittersphere to be lit up with Peyton Manning and related terms. Instead, Manning was not among the top 10 Twitter trends for my area. Tim Tebow and John Elway (often portrayed as a Tebow antagonist last season) were in the elite company.

THE MANIA CONTINUES
So Peyton Manning has been the biggest NFL player story during this offseason, and Tim Tebow is still out-trending him on Twitter? I looked at the Hat Trick traffic sources. Almost a 50/50 split between Manning and Tebow. Even when the door is slammed on Tebow’s career in Denver, he is still getting the headlines! WOW! That’s just how famous Tim Tebow is!
Soon the only use Tebow Broncos jerseys will have will be for stupid pet tricks. 2 |
SACKED
Gravity is real. This is true throughout all phases of life but is more evident, rapid, and visible in few places than in professional sports. Just four months ago, the Hat Trick ran a piece the day after a stunning Tebow-led comeback on Thursday Night Football against the New York Jets.
Tebow appeared to have a Midas touch. His star was rising rapidly in Denver. As of this morning, he is no longer the starting quarterback and will probably not be on the team next year.
Tebow: sacked again! 3 |
What’s next for Timothy Richard? There are still teams that need a quarterback. The problem for Tebow is that he is left handed, which already requires adjustments to any offense, and he was a work-in-progress in Denver. Tebow was the least accurate starting quarterback in the NFL last year. While he had a number of homerun plays to his credit, consistency was sorely lacking.
Possible destinations include Jacksonville (near the University of Florida), Cleveland, and Miami. I cannot think of another franchise to which that he could offer immediate value. We have not heard the last of Tebow Mania, but the wild Bronco ride is over in Denver.
